Application Fees There is a nonrefundable $70 application fee for one campus ($80 for international applicants). FeeWaivers The University of California will waive application fees for up to four campuses for qualified students. Students who qualify for fee waivers and who select more than four campuses must pay $70 for each additional campus choice. You can apply for a fee waiver within the online admission application and be notified immediately whether you have qualified.

Dates and Deadlines

+ Provide a complete academic history

Aug. 1: Fall admission application opens

+ Report all coursework attempted from every institution

Sept. 1-30: Submit your Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) for the fall.

+ Explain all gaps in your education in detail

Oct. 1: Filing period for FAFSA and California Dream Act application opens.

+ Do not attempt to convert your grades

Nov. 1-30: Priority filing period for fall. Submit your admission application online by 11:59 p.m. PST on Nov. 30. 5 weeks after filing period: Log in to your admission application and complete your Transfer Academic Update.

+ Select your grading system

March 2: Deadline to submit your FAFSA or California Dream Act application

Apply for admission at admissions.ucmerced.edu/apply Complete your minimum English and Math courses (REQUIRED) Courses needed to satisfy the English and mathematical concepts and quantitative reasoning requirements must be completed by the end of the spring term before enrollment for fall admission and by the end of the summer term before enrollment for spring enrollment. Complete major preparation courses (REQUIRED) Find the required and recommended courses for your major at admissions.ucmerced.edu/transfer/ major-preparation-schools. Pay close attention to the required major GPA. If your college is not listed, contact us at transfer@ucmerced.edu. Complete any remaining courses to establish your admission eligibility (REQUIRED) Verify you meet the minimum requirements to qualify for admission as a junior or lower-division transfer student. Fulfill general education requirements (RECOMMENDED) While general education is not required to transfer, it can help speed up your time to graduation once you transfer to UC Merced. • Option A: Complete the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) pattern. • Option B: Complete the UC Merced

+ Complete at least 60 semester (90 quarter) units of UC-transferable units. + Earn at least a 2.4 GPA in UC-transferable courses (nonresident: 2.8).** + Take no more than 14 semester (21 quarter) units as Pass/Not Pass. + Complete the 7-course pattern by the end of the spring term prior to fall

enrollment, earning a C or better in each course. + Complete the courses required for your major.** Lower-Division Transfer

+ Enrollment at a college or university after high school graduation and fewer than 60 semester (90 quarter) UC-transferable units completed prior to enrollment at UC Merced + Meet requirements for the University of California upon high school graduation (required GPA, examinations and all “a-g” courses) + Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA in all UC-transferable coursework (nonresident: 2.8)**

Visit uctap.universityofcalifornia.edu to start your Transfer Admission Planner (TAP). Your TAP will help you to determine if your coursework is UC transferable, what kind of credit you might receive for AP or IB exams, and your UC GPA. The information you indicate in your TAP also will be transferred to the UC application when you are ready to apply. Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) California Community College students are eligible for the UC Merced Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) program. TAG contracts specify the courses to be completed and GPA you must earn at a community college to be guaranteed admission to UC Merced in the major of your choice.
