By Andrew Mitchell UC Merced men’s volleyball senior Ryan Kilgore strives for the best in every aspect of student-athlete life. Kilgore has a 4.0 GPA, has garnered multiple California Paci c Conference awards for both his athletic and academic accomplishments, and is the only player in UC Merced history with at least 500 career kills and 40 career solo blocks. However, the team will always be bigger than his personal success on the court. “I think what I enjoy the most about volleyball is the team aspect,” Kilgore said. “I honestly get happier when someone else makes a big play other than myself. It is just so fun to be there and support the teammates. e number of big plays that happen on a regular basis is just exhilarating.” Team Player Makes a Huge Individual Contribution to Men's Volleyball
